About Electronics R&D Awards
The Electronics For You team introduced these awards to address a commonly discussed issue—the lack of R&D in electronics in India.
Since financial incentives like tax benefits cannot be directly offered, the goal of these electronics awards is to:
- Highlight innovators in electronics
- Promote R&D efforts
- Recognise those working in this field
These awards are intended to become annual awards, recognising innovation every year and being presented during India Electronics Week.
Who Should Apply?
Anyone who believes they have created an innovation in electronics is encouraged to apply.
The awards are open and flexible in their initial stages, allowing a wide variety of product and service categories to be reviewed and accommodated.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are primarily expected from R&D or technical divisions of the following:
- Product companies (OEMs)
- Independent design houses
- Educational or research institutions
- PSUs / government organisations
In addition, individual innovators who are not part of any firm can also apply.
Who Should Not Apply?
Applications will not be considered if:
- The innovation is not related to electronics
- The firm is not Indian or the innovation was not done in India
- There is no ready product or service for evaluation
- The technology has been copied
- Only minor changes have been made to an existing design
Nomination Fee
- ₹5,000 per innovation for startups registered under Startup India
- ₹10,000 per innovation for all other firms
- GST is included in both cases
If an application is rejected before review, the full amount is refunded within two weeks.
