The Realme GT 8 series is set to launch in China next week and it will be the first phone from the brand to feature custom Ricoh Imaging tuning. Apart from the fancy camera hardware, Realme will also offer some modular customization options with interchangeable modules for the camera housing.
The camera housing or deco features two Torx screws on the side, which hold the module in place. The system appears to use magnets, allowing you to instantly snap the housing into place and then attach the two screws to secure it. Realme revealed it will offer square, round, and robot styles with varying material finishes and colors.
It remains to be seen if Realme will exclusively make these camera housings or if third-party makers will also join in. We’re also wondering how this modular approach will allow for easier repairability.

In addition to the interchangeable camera deco, Realme also revealed that the GT 8 Pro will feature a new paper-like recycled leather back.
The material is reportedly wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant and just 0.02mm thick.
