The vivo X500 series only just became global, and we’ve got the X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max in the office, alongside the X500, which is not coming to Europe for now.
The series is oddly lopsided, with the Pro Max towering over the Pro with a 6.85-inch display, and the X500 sitting in the middle with a 6.59-inch screen. The X500 Pro is the most compact at 6.36 inches.
The global vivo X500 Pro ships without a charger – you get a case and a USB-A to USB-C cable. The 90W charger is seemingly reserved for the Pro Max model.
The case is the usual vivo affair – soft rubber, color matching the phone. It has a neat little cutout for the camera lens markings, which is new. With the case on, there’s a subtle reassuring feel that the phone is protected, and it’s more secure in your grip.
The case is solid and has a nice little cutout for the camera aperture inscription
Despite its compact display diagonal, the vivo X500 Pro doesn’t feel small. It feels thick and substantial, which is somewhat justified by the 6,510mAh power pack within.
The phone is all-flagship throughout: from the premium (and well protected to the tune of IP68/IP69) build, to the potent 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro SoC and 12GB of RAM. The cameras are also top-notch, if a notch below the level of the Pro Max, which has a higher-end zoom sensor.
